Who Are We?

Linda Vista is a private Catholic school for boys and girls in Pre-K (age 3) through grade 8. We offer a Montessori Pre-K and Kindergarten and a traditionally based education for grades 1-8. Linda Vista is blessed to be served by the Benedictine Monks of Saint Louis Abbey as Chaplains, providing both the ministry of the sacraments and spiritual direction as the school moves forward.

Our Mission

The Mission of Linda Vista School is to work with our families to provide a challenging and enriching preshool and elementary education rooted in the values of the Catholic faith. Guided by a Montessori philosophy which recognizes the unique needs of each child, we provide a nurturing environment and educational program which foster respect and self-worth, enabling each child to develop academically, spiritually, morally, aesthetically, socially, and physically.

We invite you to share the "Linda Vista Experience." That's how our parents describe the school. It's not something we planned, implemented, or really even thought about. It's just something that has developed over the 40 years that Linda Vista has been in existence.

What do we mean by the "Linda Vista Experience?" Here each child is nurtured individually, and teachers take an interest in each student, not just the ones seated in their classrooms. Teachers spend extra time with students, fine-tuning their skills. Administrators call Linda Vista "home." And the parents who graduated from Linda Vista 30 years ago now send their children to school here.

When children leave Linda Vista, the "experience" travels with them, making them responsible, educated young Christian adults who are curious about the world around them.

Diversity. Linda Vista includes students from many religions, ethnic groups, and abilities.

Small classes, big heart.: Our student/teacher ratio is 12:1. Each classroom typically has a teacher and a teaching assistant, giving teachers the flexibility to help those children who need to move forward, as well as those who need extra help (both are degreed and certified teachers). Our Learning Consultant provides different strategies for homeroom teachers and works within the various classrooms.
